We all know that many actors, filmmakers are of the opinion that India lacks cinema halls, especially in certain zones of rural areas. Keeping in mind the same, some prominent celebrities from the fraternity like hit filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, superstar Aamir Khan, producer Ritesh Sidhwani amongst others decided to meet our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Besides them, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aanand L. Rai, Mahaveer Jain were some others who decided to meet the Prime Minister to discuss about the issues faced by the film industry.
The said actor and filmmakers visited PM Narendra Modi in Delhi wherein their agenda was to discuss the Indian film fraternity as an “industry” and to discuss how the massive professional field contributes to the overall income of the nation in general. They also wanted to discuss about how the film industry has spread its wings wide and far with its talents and how it can contribute to be a global cultural ambassador. Besides that, they also discussed the issue of lack of theatres in the country compared to the massive market of demand that the country has for films.
If reports are to be believed, the meeting that was held recently was a fruitful one with the six filmmakers returning to Mumbai quite satisfied. We hear that the Prime Minister patiently heard out the grievances and matters in hand and at the same time, also agreed to the fact that Indian film industry has made its name in international waters too. Besides that, sources have been quoted in reports stating that Prime Minister also truly believed that the contribution made by the massive film industry is no less than nation builders. These reports also claim that the PM has reassured them that a special committee will be set up soon to address the matters.
